The paper is the easy half. What ruins a repaint is the adhesive left behind — it flashes through finish coats, telegraphs seams, and turns tacky in humidity. We score, steam and hand-strip every layer, then wash the walls until the glue is genuinely gone. Torn face paper gets sealed, damaged areas get skimmed and sanded, and the whole wall is locked down with a stain-blocking bonding primer.
