We wash the whole envelope, scrape every failing edge to sound material, feather-sand the transitions, and spot-prime bare wood same-day so nothing sits exposed overnight. Only then do the finish coats go on — back-brushed where needed, caulked tight at every joint that should be sealed, left open where the siding needs to breathe
